Take a look at what we've done so far
- Since 2015, we have led a series of roundtable dialogues, seminars and one-on-one engagements with church and faith leaders, during which we look at contextual/alternative interpretation of biblical scriptures; human sexuality and their understanding of it; and the role of the church in social justice.
- Relationship with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCRN): 2 two-day dialogues with the (ELCRN) – November 2019 and March 2023 – has led to them being one of or the strongest faith allies at the moment. (We partnered with them in establishing safe havens for LGBTI persons that needs emergency shelter and support.
- HEJA Conference in May 2023, where a resolution against discrimination was drafted and unanimously adopted by the clergy present. (Attended by Deputy-Bishop and General Secretary of ELCRN; Bishop of Methodist Church in Namibia; Head of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches in Namibia; other clergy from these denominations)
- Methodist Church: the Methodist Church has reached out to TULINAM to support them in raising awareness in the congregations on inclusiveness. They have also published a statement denouncing the violence and killings and stating their support for our communities.
- Genderworks Partnership: We have established a partnership with Genderworks in SA as part of our efforts to strengthen the voices of faith allies as well as queer faith voices. TULINAM beneficiaries (Faith leaders and LGBTI persons) were enrolled in a facilitators’ training on gender and sexuality that ran over four modules from October 2024 in Cape Town.
