Who we are...
TULINAM is a faith-based organization dedicated to promoting equality and inclusivity for LGBTIQ+ individuals, within religious contexts. Our focus is on engaging with church leadership and individual faith practitioners, recognizing them as critical duty bearers and gatekeepers in shaping attitudes towards sexual diversity within faith communities. We operate on multiple levels, from grassroots advocacy to policy-level forums within Church hierarchies, striving to effect meaningful change.
Building on the pioneering work of The Rainbow Project (TRP), which started over a decade ago, TULINAM was established to continue advocating for sexual and gender minorities within faith communities. TRP initially collaborated with Inclusive and Affirming Ministries (IAM) of South Africa to create safe spaces within churches, and this work has since evolved into TULINAM’s mission to engage church leadership and support local change agents in fostering inclusive environments.
